It rose from an unmarked grave hidden in my heart
A seed of despair that spread it's within my fears
Tearing me apart - blossomed the flowers of gloom
That drained all the colour from my eyes
I observe this world through eyes of glass
A gallery pictures painted in bleak colours
In broken mirror's reflections I see
Someone dazed staring at me
A ghost of a stranger ... that used to be me...
Nothing seems real anymore nor holds any value
Voiceless cries drowned in white noise...
In my garden of grief I bury all of my shattered hopes,
In peaceful emptiness - I let them go!

Brethren in my black arts, dressed in grave-robbed robes
Chanting by the marked grave
Black candles burning - leading the way
Through planes of despair and nothingness
Where souls aimlelsy wander
In sepulchral winter - forevermore!
Four moons ago a man took his own life and walked through earth's gate
Seeking fulfilment in becoming a wraith...
Shedding away layers of soul
With every step - closer to cold
Leaving behind this rotten world to never return!
Torn from cold womb of death
Spellbound to ressurect
Still blood rushing throughs veins
As casket bursts open
Thrown into a vortex of light
Torn apart and re-arranged
Chanting voices resonate deep within
Leaving marks within his soul
Black flames drawing nearer,
He sees the lights of the world he despised
An outworldly cry breaks the silence of night...
"Awakened from saught after slumber
I drink from cup of Hecate.
Life eternal - torment infernal.
I will live to see all rivers run dry
And laugh as the sun burns out infront of my eyes!"

And always, it was the same...
Mankind's primal instincts triumph over
Thought, virtue and advancement
What makes a man, kills the man at the end!
And few that overcome the ways of flesh
Ascend into endless light...
Where one becomes many and many become one...
I hear their voice, the time has come again
To unleash the primal wrath of brimestone fire!
Swallow all matter - to start over, again!
In the wake of chaos!
Within destruction lies salvation seen only by eyes of the spirit
Abbadon all fears, close your eyes and step forward - to the light
Can you hear a whisper that's louder than thousands of screaming voices?
A whsiper that resonates with you!
From beast to man, into a star!
... and into the unknown!
The cold light... Cold light of void...
Let the waves of light wash you away
Into ocean of us!

I surrender myself to pain
In solitude, confined
Cursing what I've become
Awaiting for you to deliver me
From emptiness in which I wither
Hundreds of arms lift me up
To lay me down in my grave
I feel you crawl under my skin
Once again, my fears and lies
Took a hold of me

I drift away in a dreamless sleep
On a raft of black gold
All colours slowly fade to black
Just like me memories - into the ash
Scattered around the ruins of me

They crawl out from the mouth of hell
And spread their wings to eclipse the sun
Hordes of bloodthirsty beasts unleashed
To bring humankind to it's knees
Abbadon's children, born of relinquished angels
Plague-like swarm of chimeric locusts
Leaving behind all god's temples in flames,
Their ashes climb to heaven's gates!
Kill them, kill them all!
For the lord knows those, that are his own!
Now covered by a veil of eternal night
Earth's illuminated by Sheol's fires
Molten flesh and charred bones
Burried under layers of magma and ash
Earth quakes and drinks blood from it's rivers
Shaping it's lands for dawn of new aeon
Once again - cleansed of god's failure,
Now clay in architects hands

It tortures me relentlessly and I succumb to it's might!
I would give my everything just to close my eyes
And break out of chains of insomnia
Borders of reality fade into nightmares
Forging new horizons of horror
Shapeless creatures reach out for me!
Blood! Paint my face with blood!
Let it flow from my wounds!
Blood! Paint this horror with blood!

Drag me into the haze of relief!

Dreadful creatures of shadows - leeches of sanity
Inverted reality, visions of agony - plaguing my mind!
Blood spilled on walls of an onyx black maze
They are calling my name...
Hellbound! Key to your kingdom is in your hands!
Hellbound! Escape your prison of flesh and return where you belong!
Millions of voices screaming, drowning out my thoughts
"You can't escape! No god can save your soul!"
Millions of voices sceeaming in a haunting harmony
"Take the blade, cut to the bone, bleed out dry!"
Every drop of blood I bleed, restores my body in the middle of Hell's maze
Witness my rebirth, chant my name, enlight my sigil up in flames!
Blood leaks through this blackened gateway and rebuilds my flesh
In abyssmal lord's image!
... and to think, I hesitated...
Hellbound! Key to your kingdom is in your hands!

Playing our roles unknown to us.
Snares and delusions - set in motion for loss.

Remember my name, as you take your last breath
In the grave you dug yourself,
Under the light of the mourning star!
Time heals nothing, we only bury the pain in shallow graves

The atmosphere on this record is amazing dark and beautiful almost spiritual at some points and crushing at others every song gave me goosebumps at some point

If this came through your feed, you're probably like "Way to go dumbass... You didn't have this shit already??" 😂🤣 I'll have you know I am buying this album once again (for like, what? the 4th time??) to pick up the new sick "sea blue gel" vinyl variant of this modern classic. Jfc Earache Records still knows how to grab my money, even after all these years haha. Have a feeling "Hiss" will be near the top of my Albums of the Decade list when all is said and done. What an absolute masterpiece.

I dig this album so much, definitely a keeper. Subtly and masterfully mixing death metal subgenres, backed with an over the top production. They're true professionals. Can't wait for their next release!
